Turfs is a desktop organizer for macOS. It groups your files into resizable, customizable containers on your desktop, backed by folders, Finder tags, or hand-picked collections. Your privacy is fundamental to how it works.
All turf configuration — positions, sizes, colors, names, and which files belong to which turf — is stored locally on your Mac. References to files are paths only; Turfs does not copy file contents into its own storage. Your files stay where you put them, owned and controlled by you.
Turfs does not currently sync between devices. Your configuration lives on the Mac it was created on.
Turfs makes two kinds of outbound network requests, both limited and purposeful:
1. Update checks. Turfs periodically checks for new versions by requesting an update feed file from bloosoftware.com. The request includes your app version, macOS version, and system architecture, so Turfs can determine which update applies to your Mac. No identifying information is sent.
2. License validation. When you activate or use a paid license, Turfs contacts the Bloo Software fulfillment endpoint to verify the license. This request sends your license key and a hashed device identifier so the same key cannot be reused indefinitely across unrelated machines. No file data, file names, or usage information is transmitted.
That is the complete list of outbound connections Turfs initiates.
Turfs is sold directly by Bloo Software. Payments are processed by Stripe; Bloo Software never sees or stores your card details. After purchase, your license key is delivered to your email via Resend, our transactional email provider. Stripe and Resend each have their own privacy policies governing how they handle payment and email data:
Turfs includes a 10-day free trial. Trial state is stored locally on your Mac. No personal data is transmitted during the trial period.
If a future version of Turfs begins to collect any data — for example, opt-in crash reporting or anonymised usage statistics — this policy will be updated and the change will be clearly communicated in the app before any data is collected.
