- Right-click the column titles in List view to choose which columns a turf shows: Date Modified, Size, Kind and Tags. Each turf remembers its own.

Expand when you mean it
- Rolled-up turfs now open only when you rest the cursor on them, so passing over one on your way somewhere else leaves it closed. Choose how long in Settings → General → Roll-up.
Small touches
- The pin and roll-up arrow stay in the same place whether a turf is open or rolled up.
- Drag a file over a turf and its highlight fades in gently.
Fixes
- Settings… in the menu bar menu sometimes didn't open the Settings window.
- After reconnecting displays in a different order, some turfs came back in a different spot or on another Space.
- Files on an iCloud Desktop that weren't downloaded to your Mac couldn't be moved to the Trash.
- Dragging icons to the Trash in the Dock left them in place.
- ⌘⌫ didn't work while Quick Look was open.
- A rolled-up turf at the bottom of the screen moved up when it opened and didn't come back down.

A list view for every turf
- Right-click a turf → View → as List (or press ⌘2) and its files line up as rows: name, date, size, kind and tags, just like Finder.
- Click a column heading to sort, drag the dividers to set the widths — Turfs remembers them for that turf. Make the turf narrower and the columns step aside one by one; nothing scrolls sideways.
- Everything you do with icons works with rows: select, drag in and out, rename in place, drop onto a folder, Quick Look, roll up.
Finder's right-click menu, all of it
- Rename, Compress, Copy and Paste, Share…, Show Package Contents, New Folder with Selection, and your own Quick Actions under Services — in Finder's order, so your hand knows where everything is.
Move a turf to another display
- Right-click a turf, a tabbed turf or a turf group → Move to Display, pick a screen, and it's there — same spot relative to the corner, fully on screen.
Small touches
- Drop a file into a turf and it slides into its place instead of appearing there.
- Finder's keys: ⌘1 and ⌘2 for icons and list, ⌃Tab to move between tabs, ⌘[ and ⌘] to go back and forward inside a folder turf.
A first-run count
- Turfs now counts first runs — once, anonymously — so we know how many people try it. The welcome tour tells you before it happens; the privacy policy has the details.

- On macOS 26, names and titles on a frosted turf over a light wallpaper were shown in white.
- Renaming a file to a name already in use only beeped.
- Moving a file to the desktop skipped it when that name was already taken there.

Clear the desktop your way, and move a whole armful of files in one drag.
Clear the desktop, your way. Double-click the desktop and choose what disappears: nothing, just the loose icons, or your turfs and icons together. Hide only the icons and your turfs stay standing — a clear desktop that still keeps everything grouped in front of you. Double-click again and it all comes back. The choice lives in Settings → Desktop.
Move a whole selection at once. Select as many desktop files as you like, drag them onto a folder, and they all move in together. Hold ⌥ to copy instead of move, and one ⌘Z puts the whole drop back. Matching names ask you what to do, just like Finder.

Navigate folders inside a turf. Double-click a folder in a turf to look inside it — no Finder window, and the turf keeps its place on the desktop. Finder's own shortcuts work while you're in there: ⌘[ back, ⌘] forward, ⌘↑ to the enclosing folder, plus a small toolbar that appears only while you're browsing. The title switches to italic to show the folder you're in, so it's always obvious you've stepped inside rather than changed the turf itself. Anything you drop lands in the folder you're looking at. Quit Turfs and every turf is back at its own folder, exactly as you left it. Nothing is moved, and nothing is trapped.
Decide what Mission Control does to your turfs. Open Mission Control and your turfs can either fly up with your windows, or stay exactly where they are on the desktop. It's your call — the setting is in Settings › Mission Control.
Easier to read
- Titles and tab labels now pick a colour that stays legible against whatever's behind them — including frosted turfs and inactive tabs, which could previously end up as dark text on a dark surface.
- Selected icons dim when Turfs isn't the app you're in, the same way Finder's do.
- Hovering a rolled-up turf no longer shoves your icons out of the way. The icons underneath simply hide until you move off.
Bug fixes
- Improved smoothness when dragging turfs.
- Tag turfs – which rely on MacOS Spotlight – now tell you if the Spotlight's index isn't available instead of just looking empty. There's a Retry button, and tag turfs recover on their own once the index is back.
