Keepers — Privacy Policy

Keepers is a bookmark manager for X (Twitter) and Bluesky, available as a native app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your privacy is fundamental to how it works.

What Keepers does not do

Keepers does not collect or store your bookmarks, library or personal data on any server of ours.
Keepers does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Keepers does not share any information with third parties.

Where your data lives

All bookmarks, albums, tags, and library data are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and synced privately across your devices via iCloud. Your data is never accessible to Bloo Software. iCloud sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Network activity (Mac version from bloosoftware.com)

The App Store versions of Keepers connect only to X, Bluesky and iCloud (see below). The Mac version downloaded from bloosoftware.com makes four more kinds of request, all limited and purposeful:

‍Update checks. Keepers periodically checks for a new version by requesting an update feed from the Bloo Software fulfillment endpoint. The request includes your Keepers version. No identifying information is sent.
‍A first-run count, once. The first time Keepers is set up on a Mac, it fetches a small file from GitHub so we can count how many people try the app. Nothing about you, your Mac or your bookmarks is sent; GitHub simply counts the fetch. It happens once per Mac, and Keepers tells you on its first welcome screen before it happens.
‍License activation. When you activate a license, Keepers sends your email address and license key to the Bloo Software fulfillment endpoint, which emails you a 6-digit code to confirm it's you. Keepers then re-checks the license from time to time. Nothing about your bookmarks or your use of the app is sent.
‍Crash reports, only if you choose. If Keepers quits unexpectedly, the next time you open it, it asks whether to send the crash report macOS saved. Nothing is sent unless you click Send Report. The report describes what Keepers was doing when it quit, your Mac's model and macOS version, and an anonymous identifier macOS gives to crash reports from your Mac. It does not include your files or bookmarks. It goes to the Bloo Software fulfillment endpoint, which emails it to us through Resend, along with any note you add. A short record of each report (Keepers and macOS versions, the type of error, and your note) is kept so the same report isn't handled twice.

Platform access

Keepers connects to X and Bluesky on your behalf to sync your bookmarks. On macOS and iOS, you sign in directly inside the app using a secure in-app browser. Your session credentials are stored exclusively in your device's Keychain and synced via iCloud Keychain to your other devices. No credentials are transmitted to or accessible by Bloo Software. To show previews of links in your bookmarks, Keepers loads those pages directly from the websites they point to, as a browser would.

Purchases

Keepers offers a free tier and a paid subscription.

‍The Mac version from bloosoftware.com is sold directly by Bloo Software. Payments are processed by Stripe; Bloo Software never sees or stores your card details. Your license key and activation codes are emailed to you through Resend, our email provider. Stripe and Resend each have their own privacy policies:

Future changes

If a future version of Keepers begins to collect any data, this policy will be updated and the change will be clearly communicated before any data is collected.
